Spain Regional Superior Court allows uranium exploration in area of former Cabra Alta mine to continue

The Superior Court of Justice of Extremadura has given the reason to the appeal of the QBIS Resources SL company against a resolution of the General Directorate of Industry, Energy and Mines of the Board that annulled the research permit for the uranium mine project in the region of Sierra Southwest of Badajoz in Spain.

Earlier in July 2019, the General Directorate for Industry, Energy and Mines has decided to cancel the resource prospecting permit of section D (uranium) of the Mining Law, called ANSAR.

The mine, located on the ‘Cabra Alta’ farm, is a currently inactive open-pit uranium operation between Los Zahínos and Villanueva del Fresno.
